Aspirus Lake View (ALV) in Two Harbors, Minnesota is proud to have been named one of the top 20 critical access hospitals (CAHs) for patient perspective in the United States. There are currently over 1,350 CAHs in the country.

The ranking is determined by the Chartis Center for Rural Health and is announced by the National Rural Health Association (NRHA). It is based on data gathered for the Chartis Rural Hospital Performance INDEX.

“Achieving a top 20 designation has been a goal of our team for many years,” said Aspirus Lake View President Greg Ruberg. “To have it become a reality is incredibly rewarding and a powerful reflection of how deeply we value our patients and their families. This national recognition places our organization in top 2% in the U.S. It’s a clear testament to our team’s unwavering commitment to delivering the highest quality of personalized care.”

The top CAHs have achieved success in overall performance based on a composite rating from eight indices of strength: inpatient market share, outpatient market share, quality, outcomes, patient perspective, cost, charge, and finance. ALV was also named a top 100 CAH in the country by Chartis earlier this year for results on all of these eight composite measures.

The Chartis Rural Hospital Performance INDEX is the foundation for many of rural health care’s most prominent awards and is used by organizations like the NRHA in support of advocacy and legislative initiatives.
